Drotamet Injection is an antispasmodic medication used to relieve smooth muscle spasms and associated pain. It contains Drotaverine Hydrochloride, which helps relax the muscles of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, and urinary tract. The injectable formulation provides rapid relief from spasmodic pain when oral medication is not suitable.

Drotaverine works by inhibiting the enzyme phosphodiesterase-4 (PDE-4), which increases intracellular cyclic AMP (cAMP) levels in smooth muscle cells. This leads to relaxation of smooth muscles, thereby reducing spasms and relieving pain.
